There is, in my opinion, no rational reason to delay the implementation of the Dodd-Frank rules for derivatives. More than any single issue that led to the recent financial crisis, financial derivatives should be subject to oversight and control. I spent 20 years as a Registered Reprentative and there are more rules than you can say grace over. And yet most of us survived and thrived. Rules exist so that society can police itself against those who would cause us harm, either intentionally or not. These derivative rules my not be a perfect answer but society has an interest in minimizing damage to itself. Its why we all drive on the right side of the road and penalize those who choose not to.
